Una delle più sentite manifestazioni di fede e devozione verso i Santi Fratelli è quella che ha dato vita, nel corso dei secoli, ad una vasta collezione di quadri votivi che oggi costituisce il Museo dei Quadri Votivi del Santuario di Trecastagni.

One of the most heartfelt expressions of faith and devotion to the Holy Brothers is the one that has given rise, over the centuries, to a vast collection of votive paintings that today constitutes the Museum of Votive Paintings of the Sanctuary of Trecastagni.

I devoti che hanno ricevuto "miracoli" e "grazie" dai tre Santi si sentivano in obbligo di sciogliere il "voto", cioè di testimoniare pubblicamente, attraverso una raffigurazione pittorica, l'intervento miracoloso e la grazia ricevuta. I soggetti dei quadri sono diversi, tutti appartenenti alla sfera degli affetti e dei valori fondamentali della famiglia: malattia e guarigione, pericolo di vita e salvezza, dolore e gioia.

Devotees who received "miracles" and "graces" from the three Saints felt obliged to fulfill their "vow", that is, to publicly testify, through a pictorial representation, the miraculous intervention and the grace received. The subjects of the paintings are diverse, all belonging to the sphere of affections and fundamental family values: illness and healing, danger of life and salvation, pain and joy.

Ogni quadro è un documento storico, sociale e religioso, che narra la vita quotidiana, le paure, le speranze e la fede incrollabile di generazioni di devoti.
